CBT – Susanne Gilmour

Susanne Gilmour     Quals: BA, Cert Teach, Grad Dip Social Science, Grad Dip Psych, MAPS.

CBT: The success of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is strongly supported by many studies and is the therapy preferred by Medicare and the Allied Health program.

Counselling Approach: Susanne Gilmour utilises CBT as the foundation of her approach to therapy, incorporating the techniques into other psychological treatments, as agreed to by clients. Combining CBT with “neuropsychotherapy”, basic education about what happens in the brain to cause stress and mood disorders and how practice and empathic coaching can change unhelpful habits of mind, developing new neuronal “‘wiring” in the brain, brings about improved wellbeing.

She utilises many CBT techniques to help individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and learn problem solving and behaviour modification strategies to improve emotional wellbeing.
