Family Therapy – Trudy Sheffield

Trudy Sheffield       Quals: Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Hons)

Critical Parent Syndrome: So many people are effected by critical or chaotic parents.  This leads to insecure attachments, anxiety, low self-esteem, low self worth, a lack of sense of self, and depression. If you can relate to being subject to a highly critical parent, or a parent/s with chaotic and unusual behaviours, you can find help and develop a meaningful, stable life.  Your concerns and issues need to be valued.  You may often find you question your own ability to make decisions and value.  Having a critical parent can also significantly impact on your ability to adjust to major life changes, or managing conflict, and assert yourself in everyday interactions.  Or, perhaps you find yourself very angry, depressed and uncertain.

Counselling Approach: Trudy Sheffield has extensive training in working with clients with complex family trauma and self-value issues.
Trudy draws on Cognitve Behavioural, Strength based and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychoanalytic Therapy when working with you to make positive change. She has a respectful, warm approach to clients, offering a non-judgmental environment to clients whilst maintaining strong professional boundaries.
