Childhood – 5 to 12 years: Parenting a young child is not easy, parenting a young child with difficulties which impact the child, their parents, extended family, and outside environments such as school. These challenges can interfere with daily life, making it hard to go on holidays, or even have friends over. These difficulties may include but are not limited to: anger or aggression expressed as tantrums or rage, grief and loss, Autism, ADHD, oppositional behavior, bullying and social problems, anxiety, toileting issues and fussy eating.

Counselling Approach: Rose likes to provide a warm, open approach to explore the difficulties with the whole family, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic methods to achieve good outcomes which are sustainable over time. Treatment approaches Rose is experienced with include Cogntive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, family therapies and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Early Childhood 5-12 Years: Psychological development progresses steadily as children exercise their imaginative, linguistic, motor and social skills in the playground and refine their cognitive aptitudes for attending, learning, remembering and solving problems in the classroom.  However, some children may display weaknesses in areas during this development. Cassandra can assist with a range of childhood issues, including grief and loss following parental separation, behavioural issues, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), learning difficulties, self-esteem, social skills, anxiety and depression.

Counselling Approach: Cassandra approaches therapy with young clients slowly to provide security and confidence in the sessions.  Cassandra uses a variety of evidence based therapeutic techniques to emerge with clients in order to achieve positive outcomes. Additionally, Cassandra has specialised skills in psychological assessments to assist schools with learning methods for children to best meet their weaknesses and strengths in order to improve learning outcomes.

Fees:
 Usually $180/hr (initial appt $220). Medicare and health rebates may apply. Reduced fees may be possible for clients experiencing financial hardship.

Childhood – 5 to 12 years: Often children present their parents with the challenge of both emotional and behavioural difficulties, simultaneously. To differentiate ‘naughty’ behaviour from behaviour that is signalling a child’s emotional distress can be hard to determine. With support and information, parents can discover the best way to manage each. Joy Tai is a child psychologist who can help identify the issues at hand, and strategies to manage them, to help children and their families.

Counselling Approach: Joey is experienced in working with children, youth and young adults. He believes that many of their difficulties may stem from the home environment and seeks to address their difficulties at a family-systems level. He is also proficient in providing psychometric assessments if necessary. Joey also uses play therapy as a way of engaging with children, and understanding their core difficulties.

Childhood – 5 to 12 years: Childhood is not always smooth sailing – there are a number of issues and difficulties which can crop up, affecting both the child, their parent/s, and the rest of the family. These challenges may include grief and loss; childhood anger – which might be exhibited through aggression, tantrums, non-compliance or explosive behaviour; Asperger’s Syndrome; ADD/ADHD; bullying, and fussy eating, to name just a few.

Counselling Approach: Ashley provides a warm, non-judgmental, emphatic approach and encourages her young clients to engage fully in the therapeutic process to achieve optimal outcomes.
