You are invited to explore how your Cognitive Automations keep you stuck and how Habitual Worries which once helped may now sidetrack you as you seek to go toward a more vibrant life direction.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction comprises techniques (including Meditation, Sensory Awareness, Sport, Yoga, Dance, Breathing, etc.) that are shown to defuse worrying and reduce activation of the Hormonal, Immune and Nervous Systems.

Workplace Counselling – Lauren Burrow

Lauren Burrow       Quals: B. Psychological Science (Hons); Grad. Cert. Health Promotion

Workplace Counselling: Given how much time most of us spend at work, it is not surprising that many issues can arise – stress, bullying, harassment, burnout, anxiety, as well as issues such as redundancy and injury. If it is not possible to deal with these issues within your workplace, it can be worthwhile for your own health and wellbeing to seek help from a professional counsellor or Psychologist who can provide coping skills, management strategies, and just to have a non-judgemental, non-work-based person to work through the issues with.

Counselling Approach: Lauren has extensive experience working in the Job Network and Workplace Rehabilition sectors, and as such has worked with many clients experiencing workplace issues. She has been able to assist many of these clients to move forward by utilising strength-building techniques from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Positive Psychology, as well as looking at what clients DO have control over, and incorporating cognitive restructuring techniques based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She also has extensive experience completing Vocational counselling with clients who either want to or are required to (due to illness/injury) change their careers/jobs.

Fees:  Sliding Scale depending on circumstances, usually $220 for initial appointment, $180 thereafter. Medicare and health rebates may apply. Reduced rates may be available please call reception.
